Animated stillshots from "Im Januar am Nil" by Clarence Barlow

Here, the viewpoint movesfrom close to the landscape which represents vocals, and away from that point. With the starting image of the animation you can see the upright colored squares up close which represent vowels sounds made by the micro-tuned instruments. Notice that the image on them is the 2D drawing of "Vocals", rock formations taken from Arizona. Click here to see the original drawing. These "vowel squares" follow along the inside of the parabolic spiral, without indicating any pitch.

Mouse over and you will see an animation of the musical structure from within the parabolic spiral. If you click on the images you will see large stillshots.
